I am looking for a Team Leader for a residential service in Halifax. This is caring for service users with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviour. Ages between 16 and 47 (currently 4 residents).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the Registered Manager and/or the Deputy Manager in the implementation of all aspects of the Statement of Purpose
  • To drive company vehicles - subject to policies and procedures
  • To work on a rota basis according to the needs of service users
  • To ensure that resources are allocated appropriately and financial records are accurately maintained under the direction of the Registered Manager and/or the Deputy Manager
  • To receive supervision in line with CQC fundamentals and to take responsibility for personal development and progress of individual training needs
  • To carry out all other reasonable tasks as directed by the Registered Manager and/or the Deputy Manager
  • To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager

You will have:

  • Secondary Education with good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Diploma Level 3 in Children or working towards this.
  • Current driving licence
  • Knowledge of CQC
  • Awareness of Equal Opportunities
  • Mental capacity assessment and DOLS
  • Ability to manage teams effectively
  • Ability to communicate in writing and BSL signing
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate staff.
  • IT competent (use of word and excel).
  • 12 months experience of working in a service with challenging behaviour.

Shift pattern is 2 on 4 off (including sleeps) 13.40 per hour plus 32 per sleep, plus on call.

This works out at 37.5 hours a week over the course of a month

Salary increases after 6 months and again after 18 months
