FINTEC recruit is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our successful and established engineering client based in Caithness and Sutherland. This is a permanent position with salary up to circa £50,000 plus benefits and relocation allowance/assistance if relevant.  Working Monday to Friday early finish on Fridays . You will be involved in developing mechanical systems and drawings, mixed design in plastics/metals and designing electronic enclosures. Degree qualified with 3+ years expereince.
Responsibilities:
- Developing mechanical systems and drawings
- Producing design solutions to meet design of maintenance requirements for products
- Ensure designs are correctly transformed into engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, test procedures
- Ensure manufacturability of design, incorporating Engineering Change Control
- Contribute to product improvement
- Writing reports and providing specifications, drawings and relevant project documentation
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work
Skills and Experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer role:=
- Educated to degree level or relevant experience within the Engineering, Renewables, Aerospace, Defence, Energy and / or Environmental sectors.
- An interest in mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing techniques with knowledge of vacuum forming / injection moulding and the materials used.
- Technically minded and able to demonstrate numerical and scientific ability and have problem solving skills
- Practical experience in Solidworks or similar CAD software
There will be a requirement to pass UK security clearance with this role
