Specialist Distributor and Manufacturer of Pumps for various industry sectors is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer,to join their established team covering the Midlands area. This position requires demonstrating both sales expertise and technical proficiency, with a focus on expanding the current customer base while driving new business development.
Successful candidate for the position of Sales Engineer wouldpossess good mechanical engineering knowledge, be self-motivated and hold a full driving licence. Duties and Responsibilities of Sales Engineer:
- Acting as main contact for all sales relates queries within specified sales area
- Generating leads, converting quotations into customer orders
- Sales forecasting
- Coordinating projects between the manufacturing facility and customers
- Completing sales and service support reports
- Maintaining computer-based records
- Assisting with sales and service calls
- Site visits
- Establish customer rapport
- Supplier training
- Constantly update own knowledge of company products
- Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery
- Help clients to solve problems with product usage
- Recommend new and improved products to customers
- Collaborating with the team on quotations and enquiries
Skills and attributes required by successful candidate for the role of Sales Engineer:
- Experience of working in an engineering/sales environment is essential, ideally pumps related
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and sales skills
- Customer-focused, driven to provide consistently high levels of service
- Hard working and committed
- The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers
- Ability to read technical drawings – desirable
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands                                                Â
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 08.00 – 16.30, Fri 08.00 – 15.30 (39 hours per week)
Salary: £40,000 to £42,500 – negotiable dependent upon experience
