Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience required for this position is experience in a similar position or 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 5 years.

The School and Role
ABC Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and motivated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and thriving secondary school in the Hall Green area. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support for students, particularly those with SEN and behavioural needs
- Assist in Resource Bases, supporting targeted learning interventions
- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to adapt resources and teaching methods
Requirements
The successful Teaching Assistant will have;
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting
- Knowledge of SEN, behavioural support, or experience working in a Resource Base is beneficial
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) preferred but not essential
- Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
*All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
