A central Government organisation are looking for an Organisation Development Consultant to enable the success of their organisational strategy by optimising both the ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ elements of their system. This role is pivotal in fostering transformative change, enhancing the employee experience, and supporting the execution of their organisational strategy, including the people plan and strategic workforce plans.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate OD strategies and initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness and performance.
  • Manage complex conversations and influence at all levels.
  • Collaborate with Organisation Design Consultants to ensure alignment between structure, systems, processes, and culture.
  • Build organisational capability by working with leaders and stakeholders to address challenges and provide expert advice.
  • Identify, design, and deliver OD and behavioural interventions, including change management processes and leadership development programs.
  • Undertake organisational diagnostics to inform the development of tailored OD solutions.
  • Partner with People & OD teams to integrate OD practices into various agendas, ensuring alignment with the overall people agenda.
  • Evaluate the impact of OD initiatives and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in line with CIPD standards.
  • Participate in communities of practice and networks to share best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree level education in a relevant field such as Organisational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional membership of CIPD at Chartered level or working towards this.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in the relevant professional area.
  • Experience managing complex culture, behavioural or systems issues through professional application of the consultancy model.
  • Strong understanding of organisation development and change theories and methods.
  • Experience in planning, designing, delivering, and evaluating OD and change interventions in a large and complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to link initiatives to strategic business priorities.
  • Proficiency in current business technology.
