Senior IT Engineer

Halstead, Essex (Hybrid)

James George Recruitment has partnered with a highly successful, global group of companies in their search for a Senior IT Engineer. The role has come about because the IT Manager that we introduced 2 years ago has been promoted to IT Director following his success in terms of growth and the efficiencies that he has made within his division.

As Senior IT Engineer, you will enhance the IT support across the group of companies. Our Client is a highly ambitious business, constantly striving for new areas of growth through start-ups, acquisitions, and new product offerings to appeal and add value to an ever-expanding audience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As a highly motivated and conscientious individual, your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • To support, add improvements to and build 3rd party integrations with their Group wide ERP solution - Orderwise
  • To provide 2nd/3rd line support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person
  • To escalate and work with third party suppliers and vendors to successfully resolve issues
  • Resolve technical issues and assisting other members of the support team

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer or similar role
  • 5 years’ experience of using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Exposure to Orderwise or similar mid-tier ERP systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Client focussed
  • Decision making - displays a willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgement and include appropriate people in the decision-making process
  • Highly motivated - Sets and achieves challenging goals
  • Quality management - ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality
  • A fast learner with the ability to follow processes and procedures, you will be able to prioritise and manage several open support tickets at the same time
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Networking: LAN, WAN, VPN, VLANs, Switches, Managed WIFI, Firewalls and Routers
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure with Mobile Device Management including Intune
  • Windows Server 2016 onwards, Active Directory, PowerShell
  • Full UK driving licence and have use of own car
