Job OverviewMarket 36 Recruitment is working on behalf of a reputable and growing company to recruit a Workshop-Based Mobile Plant Fitter. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated individual to join a busy and modern workshop, maintaining and repairing a wide range of plant equipment from industry-leading brands such as JCB, Komatsu, Bomag, Thwaites, Hamm, Powerscreen, John Deere, and Bell.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults across a variety of plant and machinery.
  • Conduct PAT testing, PDI inspections, and routine servicing.
  • Perform reactive and preventative maintenance, both in the workshop and on-site when required.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices from fault analysis through to job completion.

Equipment You Will Work On

  • Excavators, Dumpers & Dump Trucks
  • Crushers, Screeners & Wheeled Loaders
  • Disc Cutters, Generators & Water Pumps
  • Lifting Equipment, Hydraulic Attachments & Hand Tools
  • Compaction Equipment, Skid Steers & Site Cabins

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in computer diagnostics.
  • Excellent attention to detail - precise documentation is essential.
  • A reliable, flexible team player who works well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and able to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Own tools required.
