Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our growing team at a leading food manufacturing company based in Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate demand forecasts and managing inventory levels to ensure efficient supply chain operations and product availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting: Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term demand forecasts in alignment with sales, marketing, and production plans.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to gather information on promotions, product launches, and other market activities that may impact demand.
- Data Analysis: Analyse historical sales data, trends, and market conditions to predict future demand patterns and adjust forecasts accordingly.
- Inventory Management: Ensure that stock levels are optimised by managing inventory to meet demand without overstocking or stockouts.
- Order Management: Collaborate with suppliers and the production team to ensure timely order fulfilment and that products are available to meet customer requirements.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on demand forecasting accuracy, inventory levels, and any potential supply chain risks.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve demand planning processes, using new tools and technologies where appropriate to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Demand Planner or in a similar role, ideally within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large sets of data and translate them into actionable forecasts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Familiarity with demand planning software and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
