Job Overview:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Forest School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 Forest School Award, have experience working with children in outdoor settings, and ideally possess experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role requires the ability to create inclusive and engaging learning opportunities through hands-on outdoor experiences, encouraging children to explore and connect with nature.

Salary is £27,000 per anum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate a comprehensive Forest School program, aligning with the developmental needs and abilities of students.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment, accommodating the diverse learning needs of children, particularly those with SEN.
  • Encourage and inspire children to develop confidence, self-esteem, and resilience through outdoor play and exploration.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by adhering to risk assessments, health and safety guidelines, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate Forest School sessions into the broader curriculum.
  • Engage with parents, caregivers, and the wider school community to promote the benefits of Forest School education.
  • Maintain and care for the outdoor environment, ensuring it is a stimulating, safe, and sustainable space for learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification is essential.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is required; experience in an SEN school is highly beneficial.
  • A valid UK driver's license and access to your own vehicle is mandatory for transporting equipment and accessing outdoor sites.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A current Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
