Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Janitor to join our passionate and driven team based at our client’s site in Hamilton

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a janitor you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various settings in our public or private buildings. Your primary duty is to ensure that the environment is clean, safe, and sanitary for occupants and visitors. Here are some common tasks performed:
  • Cleaning: clean and sanitize floors, walls, windows, and surfaces using appropriate cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing.
  • Waste management: collect and dispose of trash and recyclables, emptying waste containers and ensuring proper separation of materials for recycling.
  • Restroom maintenance: clean and disinfect restrooms, restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels, and ensure that fixtures and plumbing are in working order.
  • Maintenance and repairs: perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky taps, and repairing minor damages to the building or its equipment.
  • Safety and security: may be responsible for monitoring and reporting safety hazards, ensuring fire extinguishers and emergency exits are accessible, and securing the premises at the end of the day.
  • Supply management: track inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is needed.
  • Specialized cleaning: In certain settings, you may have additional responsibilities such as maintaining specialised equipment as and when needed.
  • Floor care: potential ad hoc tasks such as carpet cleaning, buffing and waxing hard floors, and operating floor-cleaning machinery depending on requirements onsite.

About You:
