Are you a Mechanical Fitter with a background in the Rail industry, looking for an exciting and varied days-based role within a well-established, specialist engineering company operating in the Rail sector offering a good work life balance due to the opportunity to compress your hours into a 4 day week?

This company leading provider of bespoke Engineering solutions to the rail industry, they have bene operating for 20+ years and seen continual growth to the point they have over 30 members of staff. They specialise in the safety, maintenance and modification of trains for some of the largest transportation companies in the UK, and are looking to develop their friendly team to help their continued growth.

The current work being undertaken is the examination and subsequent repairs to MK1 and MK3 rail carriages, as well as support running maintenance and heavy maintenance and overhauls of company managed stock on all electrical and mechanical systems

The varied role would suit a Mechanical Fitter from a Rail background looking for a 5 month contract within a well-established company who offer a good work life balance and the opportunity to compress your hours into 4 days.

The Role:

  • Examination and subsequent repairs to MK1 and MK3 rail carriages
  • Understand and work to railway safety systems
  • Working to Maintenance Plans (VMOI)
  • 5 month contract, possibility to extend
  • 4 day week option

The Person

  • Mechanical Fitter experience working on rail vehicles
  • Experience on braking systems and bogie overhaul
