Are you an Engineering Manager from a Rail background, with experience in fleet management, looking for a fully autonomous management role where you will oversee Engineering and Maintenance operations and play a key role in the ongoing success of a leading company who offer ongoing progression?

This company is a leading provider of bespoke Engineering solutions to the rail industry, they have been operating for 20+ years and seen continual growth to the point they have over 30 members of staff. They specialise in the safety, maintenance and modification of trains for some of the largest transportation companies in the UK, and are looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong knowledge within the rail industry to manage a small friendly team.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day depot operations providing guidance when needed, managing the technical maintenance planning for rolling stock, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations are met and representing the company in client meetings. You will be responsible for overseeing maintenance operations as you manage the engineering team in addition to liaising with other departments and senior leadership as you work Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

This dynamic role would suit an Engineering Manager with a background in the Rail industry as well as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering skills, looking for a technical leadership role within a well-established company who offer ongoing development opportunities.

The Role:

  • Identify and implement cost-effective safety measures as well as tracking product safety issues with accurate reporting.
  • Lead technical maintenance planning for rolling stock, including overhauls, repairs, and modifications.
  • Manage the technical maintenance engineering team and support the depot.
  • Plan and prepare for scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring BoMs, work instructions, and records meet company and industry standards.
  • Support the depot in resolving technical issues and decision making
  • Implement engineering changes to enhance reliability and reduce costs.
  • Execute variation orders and manage risks to improve safety, reliability, and profitability.
  • Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
