Transport Shift Manager

Our client is a niche FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Transport professional as they look to recruit a Transport Shift Manager at their site in Bellshill, on a Tuesday to Saturday shift (1000hrs - 1830hrs).

Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the busy Transport operation, with a fleet size of c15 units and 16 Drivers. The site operates on a multi-drop basis.

Key Accountabilities as Transport Shift Manager:

Ensure compliance of HHT processes
Vehicle Routing for max efficiency and customer satisfaction
Ensure Operators License processes are maintained
Build and maintain relationships with colleagues.
Dealing with general customer & sales rep enquiries
De-brief drivers on return
Monitoring of return orders/goods
Assist with driver training, files, and documentation.
Ensure outstanding documents from Depots and Suppliers are received and resolve any anomalies
Routing 1 Sunday in 2 (approx. 1530hrs - 1630hrs).

The Ideal Person for the Transport Manager role:

Ability to work effectively in a busy environment with daily deadlines
Good interpersonal communication skills to integrate into team
Ability to work on own initiative and suggest/implement improvements in process
Flexible approach to working with customer and rep deadlines
Ambition to develop & grow within the role
IT literacy and knowledge of MS Office package. Routing software and Power Bi an advantage.
Class C License, DCPC Card & Digital Tacho Card
