Transport Shift Manager

Our client is a niche FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Transport professional as they look to recruit a Transport Shift Manager at their site in Bellshill, on a Tuesday to Saturday shift (1000hrs - 1830hrs).

Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the busy Transport operation, with a fleet size of c15 units and 16 Drivers. The site operates on a multi-drop basis.

Key Accountabilities as Transport Shift Manager:

  • Ensure compliance of HHT processes
  • Vehicle Routing for max efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure Operators License processes are maintained
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues.
  • Dealing with general customer & sales rep enquiries
  • De-brief drivers on return
  • Monitoring of return orders/goods
  • Assist with driver training, files, and documentation.
  • Ensure outstanding documents from Depots and Suppliers are received and resolve any anomalies
  • Routing 1 Sunday in 2 (approx. 1530hrs - 1630hrs).

The Ideal Person for the Transport Manager role:

  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment with daily deadlines
  • Good interpersonal communication skills to integrate into team
  • Ability to work on own initiative and suggest/implement improvements in process
  • Flexible approach to working with customer and rep deadlines
  • Ambition to develop & grow within the role
  • IT literacy and knowledge of MS Office package. Routing software and Power Bi an advantage.
  • Class C License, DCPC Card & Digital Tacho Card
