Job Title: Yard Operative
Location: Hamilton, South Lanarkshire
Salary: Up to 30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Additional: May be required to join a call-out rota (TBC) for urgent site deliveries
About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of equipment hire solutions, is looking for a dedicated Yard Operative to join their team. Based at the depot, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading equipment onto vans and lorries for hire deliveries and returns.
- Organising and maintaining the yard to ensure all equipment is stored correctly.
- Conducting basic equipment checks before dispatch and upon return.
- Keeping the depot clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assisting with stock control and inventory management.
- Potentially supporting call-out requirements for urgent site deliveries.
Requirements
- A valid UK driving licence is essential.
- A forklift truck (FLT) licence is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role (yard work, logistics, warehouse, or construction) is beneficial.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
