Role: IT Technician

Location: Hampton

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Hours: 37.5 per week between Monday-Friday

My client is a very well-respected independent school that are looking to add a IT Technician to their growing IT Team.

The IT Technician is a key technical resource within the IT team, responsible for providing first and second-line support across the schools IT systems. This role focuses on the hands-on resolution of technical issues, troubleshooting, and maintaining service performance and delivery, in addition to technical support.

The successful candidate will have experience of supporting systems and services in a technical capacity, reporting to management and will have worked for a minimum of 3 years within similar roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with first and second-line support when required, ensuring that urgent issues are addressed quickly and effectively
  • Provide on-site and remote support to users, helping them resolve both simple and advanced technical issues related to IT systems, devices, and applications
  • Identify and resolve recurring IT issues by implementing long-term solutions and root fixes, reducing repeat incidents
  • Escalate complex or unresolved challenges to senior members of the department or third-party vendors, following a structured troubleshooting approach
  • Ensure that service levels are maintained by responding to and resolving issues in line with established helpdesk procedures and priorities
  • Maintain regular communication with users throughout the issue resolution process, providing updates and ensuring user satisfaction
  • Conduct proactive reviews, identifying and logging potential issues before they escalate. This includes regular on-site checks of equipment across all the schools locations
  • Conduct user training sessions when necessary to help users become more self-sufficient in resolving basic IT issues.
  • Maintain the department's asset inventory, ensuring all IT equipment is logged, tracked, and maintained in accordance with the Trust's asset management policies
