We are looking for a creative, innovative and commercial Product Development Manager to join a leading home fragrance & gifting brand.The successful applicant will have an eye for trend, with a good commercial sense, and a genuine love of retail. In this role you will develop ranges for leading retailers, looking after the full product lifecycle from initial concept right through production. The successful applicant will be an ‘ideas’ person who is highly organised, proactive and a great team player.This exciting role involves working closely with international vendors, leading retailers, and internal teams from pitch to production, if you’re an experienced Product Developer looking to join a great team &  company, get in touch!Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Lead and drive the development of innovative and market leading products, identifying key trends and gaps in the market for new development opportunities
  • Being market aware, doing regular comp shops and following current trends
  • Manage the full product development cycle from concept, through sample sign off, and production
  • Build excellent relationships with external suppliers and factories
  • Ensure all artwork, packaging and product specifications are correct and signed off ahead of production
  • Manage the critical path, pricing, margins and budgeting for your products
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams across new product launches, ensuring all sales opportunities are maximised form a product perspective
  • Ensure product are compliant with current safety and regulatory standards, and that any required testing has been carried out and certification obtained
  • Drive sustainability, developing products which are as sustainable as possible

Knowledge, qualifications, and experience for this Product Developer

  • Good product development experience within a wholesale capacity, ideally within gifting, beauty or home fragrance
  • Background developing commercial products for major retailers, and managing the product lifecycle
  • Excited by creating and delivering fresh and commercial ideas to market
  • Strong understanding of costs, production and delivery requirements
  • Skilled at working across multiple projects at any one time
  • Proactive, flexible, and friendly!
