Vision for Education are working closely with a  Primary School in Ashford who currently has a vacancy for a Learning Support Assisatnt to jon their team.  The school are looking for someone who has experience working with children ideally in a school setting, Positive and patient approach and great communication skills. This is a fulltime role and is due to start in January 2025.

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to succeed and thrive in a positive and inclusive environment. You will provide tailored support to individual children or small groups, helping to facilitate their learning and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and progressing.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with additional learning needs.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of differentiated learning resources and activities.
  • Help students with personal care, social skills, and emotional regulation where required.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Promote an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting (although relevant experience in other settings will also be considered).
  • A positive, patient, and flexible approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and staff.
  • A commitment to supporting the inclusion and wellbeing of all students.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or a willingness to work towards one is desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
