Are you a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant looking for a new full-time position in September?

 

A well-resourced Special Needs Unit School in Enfield are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join their staff on a full-time basis from September 2024.

 

The role

 

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be working within the specialist SEND unit within this vibrant and popular Primary Unit. Students within the unit are aged between 5 and 13 years and have a range of learning and development needs including Autism, ADHD and sensory needs.

 

You will work closely alongside qualified teachers and professionals to provide support for students within the unit. There is a focus on enabling students to learn as effectively possible on their own and in groups, considering their needs. You will be required to identify opportunities for the student (s) to work independently where appropriate.  

 

Duties will include:

  • Supporting students attending the SEND unit
  • Assisting with the general pastoral care of the students
  • Providing support for students’ emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour in line with the College’s Behaviour Policy
  • Provide one to one support, where required
  • Assist in planning of activities
  • Assist with the supervision of students outside of lesson times.

 

 

The school are looking for SEND Learning Support Assistants who has:

 

  • Experience supporting children or adults with special educational needs
  • A positive and pro-active approach
  • A dedicated attitude with the ability to commit to a full-time position
  • The ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good written and verbal English
