Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:

Materials Engineer - Automotive A Surface - 43/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire / Hybrid potential - 7 Months (potential to extend)

Position Description:
The primary purpose of the role is to evolve A surface materials and technologies across a number of vehicles programmes, to a point of concept and application readiness. As the material concept(s) matures the attention will focus on the method of make and manufacturing technologies. Collaborating and partnering with the Materiality Designers, Suppliers and the wider Bespoke team.

The Surface Material Integration team has a diverse materials engineering expertise that covers material & component commodities. Understanding the production feasibility of new and existing materials & manufacturing technologies at all levels

Skills Required:
- Experience in colour matching of materials, at point of material manufacturing and implementation into component technology
- Experience working at pace with Materials Engineering and in-house labs to test new materials, defining new test specs where required for new materials in the automotive space.
- Ability to identify reason for test failures and work with suppliers to re-engineer materials
- Proficient in creation of timing plans and programme managing commodity developments

Experience Required:
- A good understanding of product design combined with good aesthetic judgement, colour vision and colour perception.
- Good communication skills and the ability to relate to and communicate at all levels.
- Proficient in creation of timing plans and programme managing commodity developments.
- Full driving licence

Additional Information:
The role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35
Warwickshire based with some Hybrid potential (circa 1 day wfh)
