About the Role:

The apprentice will gain valuable experience in NHS finance systems, supported by dedicated Finance Managers. This specific apprenticeship offers a unique split placement, with 50% spent at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and 50% at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, providing diverse exposure across two dynamic finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recording and analysing financial data using spreadsheets and finance systems.
  • Assisting in posting accounting journals to reflect accurate financial positions.
  • Supporting monthly draft accounts preparation.
  • Handling queries from clinical and managerial staff.
  • Participating actively in training sessions and professional development activities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 5-9, including Maths and English.
  • Excellent keyboard and computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and collaboratively within a team.

Additional Information:

Applicants must be over 16 and have resided in the UK/EU for the past three years. Those already holding an AAT Level 3 or higher qualification are not eligible.
