This apprenticeship provides an excellent balance of practical NHS experience alongside structured learning towards the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard and AAT qualification.
About the Role:
The apprentice will gain valuable experience in NHS finance systems, supported by dedicated Finance Managers. This specific apprenticeship offers a unique split placement, with 50% spent at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and 50% at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, providing diverse exposure across two dynamic finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording and analysing financial data using spreadsheets and finance systems.
- Assisting in posting accounting journals to reflect accurate financial positions.
- Supporting monthly draft accounts preparation.
- Handling queries from clinical and managerial staff.
- Participating actively in training sessions and professional development activities.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 5-9, including Maths and English.
- Excellent keyboard and computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and collaboratively within a team.
Additional Information:
Applicants must be over 16 and have resided in the UK/EU for the past three years. Those already holding an AAT Level 3 or higher qualification are not eligible.
