Active Recruitment are currently working closely with a fantastic, reputable mainstream Primary School in Harlow who are seeking a HR Administrator to join them as soon as possible to cover a maternity. This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Administrator to join a highly supportive and friendly team of staff where you can have an immediate positive impact on the staff and pupils alike.

HR experience within a school would be highly desirable but not essential

Duties and Responsibilities of the HR Administrator

  • Provide day to day advice to Headteachers and other senior school staff, governors, and individual employees on pay rates, contracts, sickness absence management, conditions of service and HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote best HR practice in line with terms and conditions, employment law and possible financial implications.
  • Apply a consistent, school focused, but people oriented, application of employment policies
  • Liaising with agencies to request candidate information/CV where required
  • Setting up interviews
  • Requesting vetting information from agencies and prepare new starter paperwork
  • Preparing induction packs
  • Setting up new starter HR files online and paper versions
  • To provide advice and guidance to support Governors, Headteachers, Senior Leadership Team, managers and staff in discharging and delivering their people management responsibilities and to provide a specialist HR advice, guidance and support on all employee relations, policy and HR issues as required.
  • To support recruitment campaigns for Headships, including the effective operation of interviews and ensuring that assessment methods including interview questions and competencies are appropriate.
