About The Role:

Trident Healthacre are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lead Oncology Pharmacist to join our private clients team in Harlow, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing the team working in various therapy areas. You will support the Head of Central Pharmacy Services in delivering best practices within the Pharmacy team, providing support, and engaging with new business and patients.

Accountabilities:

Subject Matter Expert:

  • Lead, develop, implement, and monitor specialist clinical pharmacy services.
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice for patient care.
  • Perform clinical verification of prescriptions.
  • Offer timely and expert clinical advice to medical and nursing staff.
  • Review operational processes for compliance and recommend changes.
  • Champion continuous improvement within Central Pharmacy operations.
  • Ensure accurate recording of process non-conformance and non-compliance.
  • Deliver department KPIs and ensure best practice in Pharmacy Operations.
  • Ensure up-to-date work instructions and SOPs.
  • Participate in working groups and projects.
  • Oversee project data collection for accurate and timely data.
  • Share best practices and participate in Clinical Project Board.
  • Develop and maintain electronic prescribing system templates.
  • Participate in departmental audits and attend relevant meetings.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful work environment.

Leadership:

Support the Head of Central Pharmacy Services in leading and developing the team.

Manage team resources to ensure timely completion of activities.

Monitor and review team performance and competencies.

Identify training needs and deliver personal development plans.

Act as training supervisor for clinical diploma participants.

Serve as an Independent end point assessor.

Address investigation and disciplinary matters as needed.

Regulatory:

Ensure compliance with SOPs and best practices in Prescription Processing.

Investigate complaints and incidents, performing root cause analysis.

Adhere to standards set by regulatory bodies such as RPSGB and GPhC.

Complete all mandatory training.

  • Proven supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience in a controlled pharmacy operation area.
  • Ideally, experience in resource planning.
  • Expert clinical knowledge.
  • Experience managing within a quality management system.
  • Ability to make informed real-time decisions.
  • Strong decision-making skills to meet patient and customer needs.
  • Understanding of operational impact on other departments and budgets.
