Field Service Engineer

Alecto Recruitment is working with their client who have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their operations team. This is a dynamic role where you will be required to work at various customer sites, providing essential servicing and resolving issues on a range of heavy plant machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer site visits to service and resolve problems on heavy plant equipment, including wheeled loaders, excavators, track loaders, shredders, screens, and waste handlers.
- Liaising with the service team and technical support to identify and solve issues, including ordering necessary parts.
- Completion of reports and recording working hours for each job completed.
- Ensuring high-quality customer service, ensuring minimal downtime for equipment and keeping customers informed on progress.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of a range of heavy plant machinery, including:
- Wheeled Loaders
- Excavators
- Track Loaders
- Shredders
- Screens
- Waste Handlers
- Experience with the following brands is advantageous:
- Case Construction Equipment
- Terex Ecotec
- Keestrack
- Solid understanding of:
- Hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Engine aftertreatment systems (SCR, DPF)
- Electrical circuits
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- IT literacy and good communication skills are essential for report submissions and liaising with the team.
Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Apprentice NVQ Level 3 in plant maintenance or a similar qualification.
- Quarry Passport and Passport to Safety are essential.
- Air Conditioning qualification is desirable.
Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including potential late nights or weekend work when required.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
The Package:
- Basic Working Hours: 08:00 to 16:30 / 40 hours per week.
