Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant

Our client is seeking a Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is energetic, well-organised, and thrives in a fast-moving environment. If you have experience in finance, particularly within a purchase ledger role, and are looking to develop your career, this could be the perfect role for you.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work predominantly on the Purchase Ledger.
  • Post and process both stock and non-stock invoices.
  • Manage weekly and ad hoc payment runs.
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Check and process carrier invoices against set rate cards.
  • Monitor the payable mailbox for queries and invoices.
  • Handle multi-currency bank postings and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile Purchase Ledger – including supplier accounts and Aged Creditor reporting.
  • Manage petty cash and company credit card postings and reconciliations.
  • File customer invoices once paid.
  • Assist with the annual audit.
  • Perform ad hoc finance and administration tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working within a purchase ledger finance department.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups).
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive environment.
  • Highly organised and capable of working on own initiative.
