IT Officer and ERP Specialist.

Salary £35k plus benefits.

Hours of work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Location: the role will be based at Harlow but will require to travel to other sites in Enfield. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional travel.

Our client is seeking an IT Officer and ERP Specialist to assist the IT Manager in overseeing and coordinating the company's ERP system and technology infrastructure. This is a brand new role so this person is key into making sure there are smooth operations, supports the implementation of IT policies and projects, and provides a key administrative and technical link between various departments. As an IT Officer, you will be instrumental in making sure our clients IT systems align with business goals, providing essential support to both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining and supporting the ERP system to ensure seamless functionality across all departments.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager in the implementation of IT policies, systems, and projects.
  • Provide administrative support related to IT activities and ensure smooth communication across teams.
  • Address and troubleshoot IT issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Work closely with internal departments and external partners to align IT solutions with business needs.
  • Maintain and ensure up-to-date documentation of systems and processes.
  • Installation and configuration of software across all workstations in the network.
  • Support with the day-to-day queries of the non-technical staff.
  • Basic maintenance of hardware, especially production devices (like labellers, RDT's, IPC's) and troubleshooting, sending them to repair when needed. This also includes mobiles and IPads.
  • Enforce Security protocols to protect organisation data.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, particularly with the use and maintenance of ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of IT systems and technology infrastructure.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • BTEC National Extended Diploma in IT (Level 3), FdSc Computing and IT, HND in Computing or Information Technology, or similar qualification.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, using initiative to tackle challenges as they arise.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional travel.

Desirable Experience & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.
  • A solid understanding of GDPR and how it applies to IT systems.
  • Knowledge of networks, servers, cloud computing, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
  • Experience with tools like Active Directory, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).
  • Understanding of Power BI and SQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields is a plus.
