Those who are keen, hard working, bright, enthusiastic and committed will be considered, previous CNC machining experience is perferred.

The basic salary would be 27k Per annum, with a bonus structure for hitting KPI's. The bonus structured will be staggered; I can gain full clarity on exact figures but if staff are hitting 90% then they can achieve a 20% bonus. 50% would see £1000 bonus awarded.

Job Purpose:

To operate and maintain Rovema machine ( Packing line ) in a manufacturing or production environment, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality products. The Machine Operator is responsible for monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

    • Operate production machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production schedules.
    • Set up machines (e.g., calibration, cleaning) before the start of production, ensuring they run at optimal efficiency.
    • Monitor machine performance during operation and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality and output efficiency.

Machine Maintenance:

    • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and part replacements to keep the machine running smoothly.
    • Follow the preventive maintenance schedule to minimize machine downtime and avoid breakdowns.
    • Report any machine malfunctions or breakdowns to the maintenance team or supervisor for further repairs
  1. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
    • Identify and troubleshoot machine-related problems to minimize production downtime.
    • Escalate complex issues to the maintenance or engineering team for resolution.
    • Work with the team to continuously improve machine performance and reduce errors or malfunctions.
  2. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate records of machine performance, including production rates, downtime, and any repairs performed.
    • Document the quantity of goods produced, including scrap and waste data.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and the production team regarding machine status and operational issues.
  3. Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Work closely with production staff, maintenance technicians, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless workflow.
    • Assist in training new or less-experienced operators in the proper use of machinery and safety protocols.
    • Coordinate with shift leaders to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  4. Housekeeping and Organization:
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.
    • Ensure that all tools, parts, and materials are properly stored and ready for use.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting machinery
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, machine diagrams, and blueprints.
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
    • Good communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
