Manual Machinist
- Location: Harlow, Essex
- Full-time, Permanent Day shift
- Salary Guide: £33,000 - £36,000 a year, plus overtime rates
Long established and respected leader in providing engineering services including service, maintenance, repair and manufacturing solutions across various sectors is looking to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist to join their skilled Machine Shop Team.
The Manual Machinist will be producing high-quality components working with manual lathes and mills.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in manual machining, turning, and milling with proficiency in using Colchester Lathes. Experience with CNC operations is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual machining tasks including lathe operation, turning, and milling to produce high-quality components.
- Operate and maintain Colchester Lathes to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and standards.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and meet project deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work space.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist.
- Strong manual turning and milling skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Hours:
- 39 hours per week
- Monday - Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm
