Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Systems and Hardware Engineer to join our Assured Position Navigation and Timing Systems (APNT) team, focused on producing Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems and Alternative Navigation Solutions, primarily for military applications. This role will offer Design Authority (DA) support across our APNT product range, guiding systems and hardware engineering from requirements capture through to testing, qualification, certification, and in-service support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Design Authority support to our Anti-Jam products, with the potential to become the Lead Design Authority after training and gaining experience.
  • Participate in customer programme management reviews, including bi-annual meetings in Georgia, as well as monthly internal and customer meetings related to obsolescence, risk, and failure analysis.
  • Manage project requirements, generate technical documentation, perform systems analysis, hardware design, and provide technical direction during design reviews.
  • Contribute to bid/proposal material preparation and respond to customer requests.
  • Work closely with the Systems Team to develop next-generation products.
  • Collaborate across teams and stakeholders, participating in technical investigations and product testing.
  • Ensure solutions are delivered in line with company processes and timelines, integrating into a larger team to accomplish project goals.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience across the entire systems engineering lifecycle from requirements gathering to project completion.
  • Ability to create technical documentation at various levels, from initial requirements to final design and performance declarations.
  • Strong understanding of change management and configuration management in highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to communicate policies and procedures effectively to your team.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent certification.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to provide technical guidance and confidently assess and approve solutions.

Desirable:

  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS or similar tools.
  • Experience in RF and digital hardware design and testing, including antennas.
  • Algorithm development experience, especially using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Familiarity with SysML or UML in a systems engineering environment.

Work Culture:

  • 37-hour workweek with some flexibility based on role requirements.
  • Early finish at 1:30 pm on Fridays.
  • Hybrid and remote work options available depending on role and needs.
  • Flexible working culture focused on output rather than hours at the desk.
  • Up to 5 paid volunteering days annually.
