My client are looking for a skilled Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist to join their innovative team. As a leader in biodiversity conservation, we're seeking a passionate and proactive individual to contribute to our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects focused on achieving biodiversity net gain.
  • Provide expert advice on biodiversity conservation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement biodiversity strategies aligned with regulations and best practices.
  • Build relationships with local authorities and conservation organizations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to integrate biodiversity into projects.
  • Prepare technical reports for planning submissions and habitat management plans.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy.
  • Mentor and support junior staff in understanding biodiversity planning processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in environmental science, ecology, planning, or a related field.
  • Full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on biodiversity.
  • Strong understanding of biodiversity legislation and policies.
  • Proven experience in managing biodiversity net gain projects and using tools like the Statutory Metric.
  • Familiarity with ecological principles, habitat assessments, and species surveys.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical information to various audiences.
  • Experience working with government bodies and local authorities.
  • Proficiency in planning software like GIS and ecological modeling tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
