Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilledManual / Conventional Machinistto join a well-established and reputable machine shop specialising in the repair, refurbishment, and manufacture of aircraft components. This is a hands-on role ideal for a machinist with experience in traditional machining techniques, looking to work in a quality-focused environment with a long-standing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of manual machines including lathes, mills, jig borers, and grinders.

  • Perform precision machining and repairs to aerospace components in line with customer specifications and approved technical data.

  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on workshop machinery to ensure continued efficiency and safety.

  • Fit and replace bushings, bearings, cups, and liners as required.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with conventional machining methods, including turning, milling, and grinding.

  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering data.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Good time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Previous aerospace industry experience is an advantage, but not essential.
