Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilledManual / Conventional Machinistto join a well-established and reputable machine shop specialising in the repair, refurbishment, and manufacture of aircraft components. This is a hands-on role ideal for a machinist with experience in traditional machining techniques, looking to work in a quality-focused environment with a long-standing team.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate a range of manual machines including lathes, mills, jig borers, and grinders.

Perform precision machining and repairs to aerospace components in line with customer specifications and approved technical data.

Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on workshop machinery to ensure continued efficiency and safety.

Fit and replace bushings, bearings, cups, and liners as required.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
Requirements:

Proven experience with conventional machining methods, including turning, milling, and grinding.

Strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering data.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Good time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Previous aerospace industry experience is an advantage, but not essential.
