Daniel Owen are proud to be representing an Electrical Contractor in Essex who are looking for a brand-new BD Manager to join their team.
You will be working with manufacturers / suppliers and consultants to establish the company as a certified service provider of integrated systems across a range of disciplines.
Responsible for developing new sales opportunities and nurturing existing relationships across a range of integrated systems disciplines including Door Entry, Access Control, Gates & Barriers and CCTV.
This is a B2B role working with key partners to provide innovative systems solutions to businesses.
Duties:
- Working closely with consultants to deliver the end to end certification process for establishing the company as a certified integrated systems provider.
- Analyse project requirements to determine the scope of work, materials, labour, and resources needed for each project.
- Driving sales of defined integrated systems particularly into new build and residential markets/sectors;
- Capitalising on existing client network and expanding that network to drive sales
- Maintaining an excellent knowledge of integrated systems offerings, sharing that knowledge and using it to communicate effectively with clients.
- Establish the company as a certified service provider of integrated systems across a range of disciplines, strengthening our position as a market leader recognised for our expertise and quality of service.
- Work closely with Quality team to develop the internal certification process and drive standards via the quality systems.
- Write timely and accurate reports to document certification and support audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to develop new sales opportunities within existing account relationships and to also proactively search out new opportunities via market knowledge, contacts, and proactive marketing strategies.
- Network and generate leads, follow up and arrange meetings with decision makers, attend networking events, proactively grow your network via social media.
- Produce accurate project specifications and quotations reflecting the client's specified requirements against accurate pricing for the job; focus on generating quality of proposal aligned with maximising GM for the Company.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of integrated systems, relevant to strategic ambitions, and a good knowledge of other technical and product knowledge.
- Establish an excellent rapport with suppliers, managing relationships as required including negotiation of price and service terms.
- Coach and support colleagues within the organisation with technical and commercial issues with particular reference to sharing knowledge of integrated solutions.
- Provide input and guidance to the Marketing team to support general business and product development especially Case Studies, product information and supplier updates.
Required Experience:
- Good knowledge of British Standards for relevant systems required.
- Previous experience in a similar sales environment essential.
- Excellent knowledge of products and systems including CCTV, Door Entry, Access Control, Gates & Barriers. Data Networks a distinct advantage.
- Excellent IT skills including Excel, database, Word, Outlook.
- Effective communicator - verbal and written with excellent attention to detail.
- Presentable and credible to internal and external customers.
- Experience, knowledge and user experience of CRM system.
- Be able to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Flexibility of time to accommodate travel requirements.
This role will be based at an Essex office with significant travel across UK. This role is not one bound by normal office hours due to the requirement to travel to third party premises, events etc as required. Overnight stays may be required.
