Role: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Harlow

Salary: 37,000 - 42,000

Proactive are currently in search of Mechanical Fitters to start work immediately in Harlow. Preferably a time served toolmaker, experienced in building bespoke machines for the automotive industry. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to acquire top rate if they are willing to attend site for machine breakdowns, commissioning etc.

You will be responsible for:

Mechanical build of bespoke machinery from the ground up.
Building sub-assemblies and assemblies of varying complexity, some having up to 30 components.
Fitting of pumps, valves, tanks, push-fit pipework (no welding or brazing).
Fitting them into the machinery frames and seeing the machine build from start to finish.
Working with the engineering team throughout the build and test phase.
Working from engineering drawings and schematics

The ideal candidate will be:

Time-served, mechanical engineering background.
Ideally hold a formal qualification or Time served apprenticeship - e.g., C&G / NVQ / ONC - although not essential.
Experience in building machinery, and assemblies.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
