Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Harlow, is currently seeking a skilled and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a 6-month fixed term contract. The company is undergoing an exciting phase of consolidation at their site, and they require a professional who can contribute to defining new layouts, bring fresh ideas, and provide constructive feedback to ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in defining and optimizing new layouts for the manufacturing site
- Provide innovative ideas and constructive comments to enhance project outcomes
- Responsible for accurate measurements and drawing layouts using AutoCAD 2D
- Identify, manage, and implement productivity improvement projects
- Incorporate improvements from the current layout into the future layout for optimal efficiency
- Present and communicate project plans to stakeholders, gather feedback, and adjust projects as necessary
- Gather cost estimates, manage suppliers, and coordinate internal resources
- Continuously update all necessary documentation, including floor plans, ERP system entries, and work instruction
Required Skills and Experience for this exciting Manufacturing Engineer position:
- Experience designing shop/factory floor layouts using AutoCAD 2D
- Solid understanding of manufacturing / engineering processes and environments
- Proven track record of delivering projects through the application of continuous improvement practices
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to effectively gather feedback and communicate project changes
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail for updating and maintaining accurate documentation
