Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Salary Guide: Up To £55.000 per annum, depending on experience.

A leading and well-established specialist business, known for designing and manufacturing a variety of heavy-duty distribution equipment, transformers, protection equipment and 110V lighting products for various industrial sectors, is seeking to recruit an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join their skilled design team.

The role of Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer involves the design and development of new and existing products for use within the Construction, Events, Military, Rail and Building Services sectors. Most products are designed in-house and manufactured at their two UK plants. Their extensive product range is continually evolving to meet the demands of the changing marketplace.

The Job Description:

  • Mechanical design and development of sheet metal enclosures and structural items.
  • Electrical design and development of Low Voltage power distribution equipment.
  • Creating detailed drawings within either 2D or 3D CAD.
  • Producing detailed bills of materials with manufacturing instructions.
  • Working within an ISO 9001 quality assurance system.
  • Working collaboratively with production, quality assurance, and technical sales teams.
  • Producing comprehensive project documentation.
  • Providing technical support during manufacturing.

The Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering (preferably electrical) or equiv.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical protection and switchgear.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical design of electrical distribution equipment.
  • Proficiency in Onshape CAD or 3D CAD similar software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

This is a full-time position located at the Harlow office. Therefore, candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Harlow.
