Job Description:
A dynamic and passionate Humanities Teacher is required for a secondary school in Harlow. The position is to start in January 2025, and we are looking for a dedicated educator to inspire and support students in the Humanities department. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Geography, History, and other Humanities (or other Humanities subjects, depending on experience).
- Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, promoting a love of learning.
- Support the development of students' critical thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of the world.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment and manage behavior effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the delivery of the Humanities curriculum.
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events when required.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in a relevant subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies).
- Previous experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential).
- A passion for Humanities education and the ability to inspire students.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
