The Role

The National Operations & Compliance Manager ensures compliance across all sites, supporting the onboarding and development of Retail Managers while maintaining due diligence and operational standards. The role focuses on ensuring all licensed sites meet regulations, safeguarding brand, and driving revenue. Key responsibilities include auditing compliance, optimising stock procedures to reduce wastage and margin gaps, and minimising dishonest till practices.

Key Responsibilities of this National Operations & Compliance Manager position -

  • Collaborate with finance to manage sales/margin performance against plan and with the Head of Retail to inform the company growth strategy and action plan for grocery categories.
  • Helps define EPOS system requirements and supports the IT/Product team through the tender process, in-store trials, and rollout program.
  • Advocate & promote the new EPOS system
  • Establish & implement new & improved stock management and inventory process.
  • Analyses past sales performance and trends to forecast future product needs.
  • Ensures store-level compliance with national promotions, including stock availability, POS, and SELs for each promotional period.
  • Assists the Retail Manager in ensuring full implementation of food safety frameworks and SOPs.
  • Learn & amend new dashboard to track insights and performance.
  • Ensures all parks comply with operations requirements, including licensing, policies, procedures, customer communication, and risk assessments.
  • Builds relationships with teams through regular visits and conference calls.
  • Increase brand awareness and guest/owner engagement through compelling promotions
  • Monitors and audits operational brand standards with support from key partners.

Requirements for this National Operations & Compliance Manager position -

  • Ideally having experience as a supermarket/hospitality or leisure within an area manager, operations, compliance, or area manager.
  • You must have 3-6 years of managerial experience leading large team
  • This would suit someone focused on are compliance, audit or operational role
  • This would be a 12-month FTC, potential to be made to a prem role.
  • Need to still be commercially focused with someone who can grow retail sales and profit margin contribution.
  • Able to travel! This role is on average 1 day a week in their HO in Essex/Herts and 75% spending your teams of people on site!
  • Highly organised - you will organise your diary in accordance to the requirements needed
  • Experience of awareness of the gambling commission and other compliance & auditory boards would be advantageous
  • Someone who can ensure consistency and quality across all retail formats and locations.
