Maths Instructor – Harlow

Location: Harlow
Start Date: Immediate start available.

Are you passionate about teaching Maths and skilled in managing challenging behaviors? We are looking for a dedicated Maths Instructor to join our Secondary school in Harlow, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Maths lessons to students, structuring the classroom to support individual learning and progress.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, creating a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Implement strategies to improve focus, engagement, and emotional regulation, helping students to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel supported both academically and emotionally.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and professionals to create a holistic approach to student development.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working in a Secondary setting, with strong behavior management skills.
  • Be confident in delivering Maths to students at various academic levels, using creative and adaptable teaching methods.
  • Be able to manage a structured yet flexible classroom environment, accommodating individual learning needs.
  • Have a calm, patient, and resilient attitude, able to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification or significant experience in tutoring or instructing Maths.
