Job Summary of Family Support Worker

  • To work in partnership with parents / carers and other agencies encouraging and empowering families to understand and meet the needs of their children.
  • To engage effectively with the residents, to observe the restrictions of confidentiality and to always respect the dignity of residents.

Requirements of Family Support Worker

  • • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Children and Young People desirable
  • Main Duties and Responsibilities of Family Support Worker
  • • To monitor and observe and keep appropriate written records.
  • • Provide 1:1 support / advice to parents & children.
  • • Demonstrate and promote social and interpersonal skills when appropriate.
  • • Keep appropriate written records.
  • • Meet agreed targets and objectives.
  • • Attend Family Reviews /Conferences as required
  • • Maintain appropriate relationships with Referrers and other Professionals.
  • • To provide aftercare where appropriate
  • • To undertake any appropriate training as required. Health and Safety
  • • To be aware of all Policies and Procedures
  • Always maintain a professional approach.
  • • Good time keeping and attendance
  • • Good overall conduct and presentation professionally
  • • To take on other tasks/duties deemed suitable by the Manager
