Based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their busy team on a permanent basis, working on site 5 days per week.

This job would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant who has a strong track record in processing and issuing invoices, to be responsible for managing and monitoring accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely payments from customers.

This company is reputable within their sector and the business has grown rapidly nationwide and has exciting expansion plans throughout the next few years.

The successful individual will be self-motivated and be proactive when it comes to problem solving. The candidate should have effective verbal communication and organisational skills with the ability to achieve targets whilst maintaining accuracy. This is suited for an individual with analytical skills as well as good level competence in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Duties will include:

  • Process and code purchase ledger invoices accurately.
  • Manage and code petty cash, credit card transactions, and business expenses.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain purchase ledger accounts.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Obtain authorisation for all purchase orders and invoices prior to payment submission.
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly.
  • Assist the Finance Team with tasks related to the sales ledger and nominal ledger.
