Primary Teacher

Academics are woprking alongside a repuatable and popular Primary School in Harpenden. We are actively recruiting for an ECT or experienced Year 1 Primary Teacher on a full time basis to start the new Academic year.

Both Academics and the school are looking for an inspiring and innovative teacher who can motivate pupils and help them reach the highest possible standards.

Vacancy: Year 1 Primary Teacher

Location: Harpenden

Contract/Type: Permanent or Long Term Contract

Start Date: September 2025.

Your key responsibilities as the Year 1 Primary Teacher

• Planning, delivering and assessing exciting, engaging lessons that are designed to meet the needs of all learners.
• Developing schemes of work and lesson plans that support and challenge all pupils.
• Assessing and marking pupils' work to ensure it meets the highest standards.
• Understanding National Curriculum objectives and planning appropriate and exciting activities.
• Supporting and monitoring pupil progress, including the setting of achievable targets
• Liaising with parents and carers over pupil achievement and welfare.
• Working closely with colleagues to create a positive learning environment.
• Attending staff meetings and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions when required.

Other than being an exceptional teacher, we also require you to

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience of teaching across the UK Key Stage One Curriculum
• Have excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum
• Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to nurture a positive learning environment.
• Have a passion for learning and a commitment to collaboration and excellence.
