About the Nursery:
The nursery is an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery in the Gosport area. They are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to start in September, on a part-time basis with the possibility of becoming a permanent role. Â
Job Description:
The Support Staff role involves a variety of responsibilities focused on assisting both students and teachers. You will play an active role in the learning process by working closely with teaching staff to help plan and deliver lessons across different subjects. Your responsibilities will include providing personalised support to students, including one-on-one assistance for children with additional needs, ensuring they receive the guidance necessary for their academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Ensure a safe and secure environment both within the nursery and during out-of-nursery activities.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Implement nursery policies as outlined in documentation and as directed by the Headteacher.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Represent the nursery positively within the community.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information encountered during duties.
-         Adhere to the nursery’s Equal Opportunities policy.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Follow the nursery's Health and Safety policy and ensure procedures are followed during accidents or incidents.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Supervise and manage pupil behaviour throughout the nursery day, including lunchtime and breaks (or as hours allow), in accordance with nursery policies and individual behaviour management plans.
Requirements:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â CACHE L3
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Experience with SEN children is an asset
Qualifications:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
