Sewell Wallis are working with a rapidly growing and highly diverse business based in Harrogate North Yorkshire, who are looking to recruit a Senior Group Accountant.

This newly created Senior Group Accountant role will support the Financial Controller with all technical finance queries across the business. You will be joining a highly acquisitive, fast paced company, who offer exceptional career progression and a role that will give you exposure to the senior leadership team.

With offices based in Harrogate and Leeds, you can choose with site you work from, however regular travel to the Harrogate head office will be required.

What will you be doing?

  • As the Senior Group Accountant, you will provide day to day technical support across the Group
  • Play a key role in acquisition accounting and supporting to integrate divisional companies into the Group
  • Develop and implement accounting processes and controls across the finance function
  • Produce the statutory accounts for all Group entities
  • Perform full monthly balance sheet reviews
  • Support external audit and respond to audit queries
  • Produce the monthly consolidation and Board Pack
  • Support with ad hoc projects as and when required

What skills are we looking for?

  • ACA/ACCA qualified having trained a recognisable accountancy firm
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of UKGAAP
  • A proactive worker who uses their own initiative
