Our client a well-known UK wide Civil Engineering Contractor are looking for an Estimator within their retaining walls department north of Leeds. The Estimator will be involved in projects that range from a £50k retaining wall on a housing development, to multiple structures installed on large £2mill highways frameworks.

Estimator Job Overview
  • Purpose: Win profitable work and identify risks and opportunities during the bidding process.
  • Estimating: Independently manage tendering, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify, document, and mitigate risks while maximizing project value.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations and senior management to align estimating processes with strategic goals.
  • Customer Focus: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identify new market opportunities, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update the client and tender database to track projects and identify growth opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and develop team members, fostering a positive culture and aligning with company values.
  • Finance: Conduct cost analysis, prepare tenders strategically, negotiate with suppliers, and manage financial risks.
  • Reporting: Regularly update management on tender progress, financials, and project specifics.
Estimator Job Requirements
  • BEng/MEng degree or equivalent within Civil Engineering/Geology related discipline
  • Proven experience in a customer focused tendering role
  • Proven track record in leading successful tender processes and securing profitable projects.
  • Demonstrable success of managing multiple concurrent tenders.
  • Experience working as a geotechnical specialist
  • A sound technical knowledge of a range of geotechnical products and solutions
  • IT literate, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dynamics and knowledge of AutoCAD
  • CSCS Card Holder.
  • Experience of working on large infrastructure projects.
  • Full UK driving license.
