Are you a Geotechnical Design Engineer with over 5 years of experience?

Do you have experience working on major infrastructure projects?

Salary: circa £45,000 to £60,000
Location: Harrogate, Manchester or Reading. In office 3 days per week

Requirements:

  • BEng/MEng degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 yeras of proven experience in geotechnical design engineering.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, WALLAP, Slope/W).
  • Chartered preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively in teams and mentoring junior engineers 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to manage complex ground engineering challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed geotechnical design for rail infrastructure projects, including foundations, slopes, earthworks, and retaining structures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide geotechnical input on project designs.
  • Carry out ground investigations and interpret data to inform design and construction methodologies.
  • Assess geotechnical risks and provide practical solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, design calculations, and documentation for project submissions.
