I am currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a team at a specialist school in Harrogate. In this role, you will:

  • Work alongside experienced staff, providing individual and small group support to students.
  • Utilise a range of techniques to manage challenging behaviour, promote emotional regulation, and develop positive social skills.
  • Implement tailored learning programs designed to address specific student needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of resources, ensuring a well-equipped and stimulating learning environment.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Support the use of various tools and strategies to engage students and encourage their active participation in learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist support in specific curriculum areas, including the preparation and maintenance of resources.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Supervise small groups or whole classes as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment, ensuring students stay on task and feel supported.
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress and achievements.
