We’re searching for an FMCG Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong FMCG engineering experience and knowledge of Krones machinery to join a FMCG manufacturer in Harrogate.

The Role

You will provide electrical and mechanical engineering support to our clients manufacturing facility. This impressive factory produces millions of units weekly and therefore it is essential that operations are run as efficiently as possible. Your role as engineer will be to continuously monitor and report on all equipment performance, alongside maintaining and repairing plant and equipment when necessary. You will work alongside multiple departments to ensure equipment is operated in the defined manner whilst constantly contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fault finding, repairs and maintenance on high speed, automated manufacturing machinery.
  • Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance on a range of specialist and high-tech machinery, predominately Krones.
  • Ensuring all engineering procedures are adhered to including Health and Safety, quality, hygiene, and general housekeeping.
  • Observing, recognising, and reporting on machinery and component defects or symptoms of impending failure, escalating potential problems.
  • Performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on major issues and communicating to the wider team.

About You:

We are looking to speak with candidates that have prior experience in a manufacturing environment within the FMCG industry, preferably food and beverage. You will be a multi-skilled engineer, adept in electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and resolution; with solid automated process control/PLC experience and servo motor control knowledge.

Key Skills:

  • Electrical fault finding and installation/testing.
  • Ability to replace set up inverters/controllers.
  • Mechanical servicing and repairs - Welding/turning.
  • Understanding of site services: Compressors, steam boilers, water treatment, electrical distribution.
  • Electrical/Mechanical City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of network control ASi systems.
  • PLC programming experience: Siemens, Allen Bradley.
  • Process control fault finding.
