Job Opportunity: Senior Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure across various locations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Assist with IT systems and network issues at the head office and remote care homes.
    • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking devices.
  • Infrastructure Oversight:

    • Contribute to the maintenance of the central IT infrastructure, including servers, Veeam Backup solutions, VMware, and Unifi Networks, to ensure maximum uptime.
    • Monitor and manage the functionality of WAN, VPNs, and firewalls/routers.
  • Project Involvement:

    • Collaborate with the team on new projects and the implementation of emerging technologies, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Escalation Management:

    • Act as a key contact for escalations to IT service providers, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Cybersecurity Measures:

    • Support the enforcement of cybersecurity protocols to safeguard systems and ensure compliance with current security practices.
  • System Enhancements:

    • Assist in major upgrades of business applications, including Office 365 and SQL (knowledge of SQL is a plus).

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, including firewalls/routers, WAN, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with VMware, Unifi Networks (installation/configuration), and Veeam Backup solutions.
  • SQL skills are preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to manage SLAs and collaborate effectively with IT suppliers.
