Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be a UK resident residing within a commutable distance to Harrogate. Please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play a key role within the leadership team to manage and resolve daily operational challenges across two sites.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by helping to set the tone for the practice's culture.
  • Utilise the HSBC Mentor legal advisory platform for advice/guidance regarding complex HR processes, policies, and out of remit situations where appropriate.
  • Ensure prompt Patient complaint resolution by working with staff and patients effectively.
  • Manage surgery timetables, staff duty rotas, holiday coverage and staff sickness or absenteeism.
  • Management & ownership for all staff recruitment including personnel contracts.
  • In conjunction with established team leaders, provide strategic oversight and support to staff teams (Administration, Reception, Nursing & Pharmacy).
  • Work with external agencies/services (GP Registrars, Physiotherapists, Social prescribers, Mental Health Practitioners) ensuring ongoing support and effective integration with the practice.
  • Manage staff performance, support individual development, and promote team cohesion to ensure a motivated and high-performing workforce.
  • Maintain and manage staff training records and lead the implementation of new training programs.
  • Lead the management of Health & Safety protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards, including in the areas of CQC (Care Quality Commission) and compliance to NHS regulations.
  • In conjunction with external providers ensure that all IT (PC'), Phones, Copiers and other technical systems are working effectively to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrable experience in leading, managing and motivating staff across different teams.
  • Strong skills in handling conflict and resolving problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and working knowledge of internal management systems.
  • Strong planning, multitasking and organisational abilities.
  • Prior experience in General Medical Practice is not essential.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks is beneficial.
  • UK resident with unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Lead by a supportive and experienced team of professionals, the practice ensures continuity of care for individuals and families; their service offering include general medical consultations, health screenings, vaccinations, and chronic condition management.
