As a Teacher of Psychology, you will play a key role in delivering the AQA Psychology syllabus to Key Stage 5 (Year 12) students, inspiring their curiosity and critical thinking. Working in a well-resourced and supportive department, you will have the opportunity to shape the learning experience of students at one of Harrogate's leading secondary schools. This part-time role offers an immediate start and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a thriving educational setting. This role will be 4 days per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The role will be to start as soon as possible and will be until May 2025 initially, with the potential to go temp to perm, if successful in the role.

Position Details

  • Contract: Part time role (4 days a week) - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of the AQA Psychology curriculum
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Psychology lessons to KS5 students.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons in line with the AQA curriculum.
  • Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student work.
  • Monitor and track student progress, implementing targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and discipline.
  • Support students personal and academic growth through one-to-one and group sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum planning.
  • Organise and lead extracurricular activities or enrichment sessions related to Psychology.
  • Stay current with developments in Psychology education and apply the most effective, up to date practices.
