NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a School in Harrogate who are looking for a Behaviour Support Worker to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with their social, emotional, and mental health and have strong behaviour management. Behaviour Support Worker roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the students with their learning and daily routines in both indoor and outdoor provisions.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behaviour, promoting respect, ensuring the safety of all students and differentiating the deliverance of the learning.
  • Support the student with their social, emotional and physical needs as well as help support them with their learning.
  • Evaluate pupil progress through various assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey, both to the pupil, other staff and have good clear and concise communication with parents/carers.

Behaviour Support Worker Non-Negotiables:

  • Full-time availability and able to provide 2 professional references.
  • Be comfortable with challenging behaviour and be able to navigate and manage children's behaviours.
  • Have recent, and relevant experience working with children or those with additional needs.
  • Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Hold patience, empathy, and ability to build rapport with children.
